Bruce Herbert Glover was born in Chicago on May 2, 1932. His father, Herbert, was a religious man who did not want his son to cinema, but his mother, Eva, took him anyway.

“I have always been an actor and I didn’t know I was acting,” he told James Bond radio podcast In 2015. “I loved going to the movies, and I directed people in scenes that I had seen in films and would play different roles. I had an instinct for that.”

He thought of making a living as an artist (he painted) or an athlete (he played football at Carl Schurz High School, who lost in the 1949 city championship match in Soldier Field) before going to the Wright Junior College.

While posing for students in an art class, Glover was requested by another model if he put a gorilla costume for an act in which she was. “I said to myself:” Well, it looks like something very worthy to do “, and I did it.

“I went down to the zoo (Lincoln Park) and I studied Bushman, the famous gorilla, that the guy who had the act told me to do. Bushman gave me my first actor lesson. He said:” Think my thoughts and do my movements. “”

He went to Tampa, Florida, with the Variety Show Act, which lasted six weeks, then was drafted in the American army; It served from 1953 to 1955 and was parked in Korea.

Casting director Billy Gordon, who brought him his concert Bless animals and children When his career was in trouble, he pushed him to represent Mr. Wint Diamonds are forever. (Paul Williams was initially tested on the screen for the role in front of Smith.)

Glover told Hamilton that, since Wint was gay, he should demonstrate “a kind of sexual pleasure” when 007 draws the assassin tails between his legs and attach a bomb from behind. This is where the “woooooo” comes from.

In 2007, it was directed by Crispin in the film It’s good! Everything is fineAnd they acted together in Influence (2015).

In his Van Gogh’s ear Interview, Glover noted that he had been close to death “repeatedly, and even the death process is a kind of learning process”.

“I remember that I had a motorcycle accident … I ran in a cow that had failed on the side of the road. A big bouvillon with horns just on my face. And I knew I was going to die, but I noticed that his mouth was sloping on the tongue.

“I had another moment when I was going to be struck in the face by a bell snake while I was mounting a cliff in Utah. And since he struck me, I always noticed how beautiful it was.

“So live it until the end and laugh when you can.”
