‘Moving like prime Zidane’ – Arsenal fans in love with Ben White’s silky smooth skill against Luton

Arsenal may have scored two first-half goals against Luton, but it was another moment that left Gunners fans swooning.

Goals from Martin Odegaard and then an own goal from the Hatters’ Daiki Hashioka saw the Gunners go into the break 2-0 up, but Arsenal fans on social media also appreciated Ben’s very silky skill White during the match.

The defender received the ball in the Luton half as the Gunners tried to launch an attack, but was quickly rushed by the Hatters stars around him.

But as Alfie Doughty slid in to take the ball from him and cut it, White coolly shook him off as he turned the other way before sliding to continue down the field.

He then passed it to Reiss Nelson, who gave it to Kai Havertz who then took the shot.

The move may not have led to a goal, but Arsenal fans who spotted the moment went wild on social media.

“Ben White moves like the first Zidane,” one fan wrote on X, comparing his defender to iconic French midfielder Zinedine Zidane.

Referencing White’s admission that he doesn’t watch football, a second said: “Imagine how good Ben White would be if he just loved football…”

“Ben White definitely has a little Brazilian side to him,” added a third.

White has been a key cog in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side this season as the Gunners target the Premier League title for the second year in a row.
