Jose Mourinho insisted that a 3-1 defeat for his Fenerbahce team in the Europa League was “a good result” – because the Rangers could have won even more.
And he warned the Ibrox club not to “celebrate too much” because the tie is not finished before the first leg next Thursday in Govan.
Asked about the performance of his team in a night when Barry Ferguson’s team also had two prohibited goals, Mourinho said: “We were very bad everywhere. I think it is not fair to say that we were very bad in defense, because we were very bad everywhere.

Mourinho advised Rangers not to celebrate too much because the second step is still to come
“Maybe you laugh but, for me, it was a good result, because the way we carried out the result could be greater than that.
“(Jack) Butland made three fantastic stops. I know there is, I think, a penalty, but to talk about the referee after this performance, I don’t think it’s ethical.
“The chances that we had to mark, we did not do it. The dynamics in the midfield was not good. Defensively, we made incredible mistakes. We have never checked this.
“They (the Rangers) defended a lot with the very low block, a good and dangerous counterattack. We therefore deserve the punishment of this result.
“But, if someone wants to ask me later, I think it’s over, no. I don’t think it’s over. There are 90 or 120 minutes to play.
“It’s the only positive thing. And from this game, I don’t take any positive points. Everything went wrong. The only thing I tell them is, don’t celebrate too much, because there is a second step. This is my only advice.
