Police in Australia think that a body found inside a burned car is that of a 45 -year -old woman kidnapped under the threat of a weapon by a group of hidden home invaders in front of her children.
An Australian mother was kidnapped in front of her two children during a terrifying home invasion – and now the police think that her burned body has been discovered in a car fire less than an hour later.
According to the authorities, the brutal incident took place Thursday evening in the suburbs of Sydney in Bankstown. Around 10:30 p.m. local time, the police were called to the scene afterwards, according to the Australian Broadcasting CorporationUp to five masked men stormed a family home, violently dragged a 45 -year -old woman outside and forced her to one of the two waiting vehicles – a white sedan and a black SUV – while her 15 -year -old and 8 -year -old sons watched with horror.
The youngest child would have been beaten with a baseball bat during the kidnapping, undergoing serious head injuries, by local police. He was transported urgently to the hospital and would remain in the induced coma after having undergone surgery. His older brother was also injured and treated in the hospital.
According to a police from April 18 releaseAbout an hour after the removal, the emergency speakers were called in the neighboring suburbs of Beverly Hills following reports on a car fire. The firefighters arrived to find the vehicle entirely swallowed up by flames. Once the intense fire is turned off, a body was discovered inside the burnt wreck.
Although formal identification is still pending, the police think that the remains are that of the kidnapped woman.
“This level of violence is horrible,” the NSW police superintendent Rodney Hart told ABC. “I can only imagine what these children have gone through, seeing their mother dragging out of the house and forced in the back of the car.”
Hart confirmed that the attack seems to have been targeted, but added that the woman and her family are not known to the police and do not seem to have links with criminal networks.
