Morning fog and sunny skies expected in Chicago forecast for Sunday – NBC Chicago

After a rainy Saturday in much of the Chicago area, Sunday looks set to be a more pleasant day, with sunshine arriving in the afternoon.

Before then, there is a limited chance of fog in parts of the region, particularly closer to the Illinois-Wisconsin border, according to the National Weather Service. Elsewhere, patchy fog and drizzle is possible during the morning hours, but this is expected to dissipate as the day progresses.

In the afternoon, there should be plenty of sunshine and dry conditions across the region, with high temperatures reaching the mid 70s. Temperatures could be cooler near Lake Michigan, with temperatures ranging mid to 60s in places near water.

From Monday, a more summery weather pattern will set in for several days. This will include plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures, with highs likely to climb into the 70s and 80s, but it will also include chances of showers and thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday afternoon.

There is no threat of severe storms at this time, according to the Storm Prediction Center, but the storms could still contain heavy rain and gusty winds as they develop from the heat of the afternoon.

A cold front is expected to pass through Wednesday, with the risk of morning showers and possibly thunderstorms as this front passes.
