Joe Jonas made a surprise camée in “Saturday Night Live” last week, singing the bridge over the short digital song “Big Dumb Line”. But the sources say Variety This part was initially written for the musical guest Morgan Wallen, who refused the game.
In the sketch, Bowen Yang, Chloé Fineman and the Mikey Madison host sing a song inspired by Europop on the wait in the “stupid” lines in New York for even more stupid foods, like “Palad” (Pizza + Salad) and “Fandy” (Fish + Candy).
NBC could not be joined to comment.
Wallen played two songs on “SNL” from his next album “I’m the problem”. The star of the country sparked speculation after suddenly leaving the scene at the end of the episode, jumping on the Hugs and Goodnights protocol of the show, then publishing on Instagram, “Get Me To God’s Country”, which was considered a slight against “SNL” and the city of New York.
Sources in the Wallen camp have said Variety The day after the shooting of the episode, Wallen had no tension with “SNL” and stressed that the singer had had a good time. Wallen did not intend to snub the series with its quick release or its Instagram publication, they said. A guest present at the “SNL” general rehearsal confirmed that Wallen had left the scene in a way similar to what happened during live recording.
The veteran of “SNL”, Kenan Thompson, was asked about Wallen’s unusual exit, saying entertainment every week: “I don’t know what’s going on by people’s minds when they decide to do things like that. I don’t know if he understood or not, or if he really felt a certain genre.”
Thompson continued: “You see someone before you have the chance to say hello or say good work or something like that, he was plunging. So when there is a start of that, it’s like, hmm, I wonder what it is?
