Morgan Wallen arrested after throwing chair from sixth floor of Nashville bar that landed just three feet from cops

Country music star Morgan Wallen was arrested last night after allegedly throwing a chair from the sixth floor of a Nashville rooftop bar.

The singer, 30, was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct after throwing the chair at the Chiefs Bar just after 10:45 p.m. Sunday.

Officers with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department say the furniture landed just three feet away from them.

Warren began laughing after dangerously throwing the bar’s chair onto the roof, according to bystanders.

The Cowgirls crooner was booked shortly after 12:30 a.m. Wallen’s bail was set at $15,250 and he was seen shielded by umbrellas as he was released from the Davidson County Jail around 3:30 a.m.

It is unclear why Wallen threw the chair at law enforcement officers, or what led to the incident.

“On Sunday evening at 10:53 p.m., Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for endangerment and disorderly conduct,” his attorney Worrick Robinson said in a statement. “He is fully cooperating with the authorities.”

The hitmaker is scheduled to perform at Nissan Stadium in Nashville May 2-4 as part of his “One Night at a Time” tour.

However, his next court date is set for May 3.

Chiefs Bar is owned by fellow country artist Eric Church and was celebrating its grand opening this weekend.

An Instagram account, @itscoopnashville, uploaded an image early Monday morning showing Wallen being detained by MNPD.

In the image, the 30-year-old appears to be shouting at a police officer from inside a police car.

“I work there and the chair almost took out 2 cops. He threw it from the 6th floor,” an Instagram user who claims to work at the bar wrote in the comments section.

The arrest is not Wallen’s first run-in with the law.

In May 2020, he was arrested for disorderly conduct at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk bar in downtown Nashville.

The country music star was also arrested at the Lower Broadway Bar for public drunkenness.

He was taken into custody outside Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk and Steakhouse after allegedly kicking several glass objects, according to a Metro Nashville Police Department affidavit.

An officer observed security guards removing Wallen from the bar due to a disturbance inside.

According to the affidavit, police gave Wallen several opportunities to leave with his friends, but he refused.

He was also charged with drunk driving in 2016, but the case was dismissed.

Wallen has a three-year-old son with his ex-fiancée KT Smith. He has since separated from the mother of his child and she is in a new relationship with Luke Scornavacco.

Wallen’s ex-fiancée, Katie ‘KT’ Smith, announced their engagement just over a week ago on Easter Sunday.

Smith began dating Wallen in 2017 and quickly became engaged, although they ended their engagement before welcoming a child in 2020; seen in 2017 in Nashville

Warren was forced to cancel six weeks of shows during his 2023 tour due to health concerns after warnings from his voice doctor.

The singer was born in Sneedville, Tennessee. His father was a pastor at a local church and his mother was a teacher.

Wallen’s latest album, One Thing at a Time, was the most popular album of 2023, while his lead single Last Night earned the most streams of any record last year.

This comes after backlash when Wallen was filmed using the N-word while spending time with friends in Nashville in 2021.

Wallen apologized after the incident, saying he was “embarrassed” by his actions.

Despite severe backlash over the racist outburst, he broke the record for the most songs by an artist on the chart at one time for his third studio album, One Thing at a Time, released in 2023.

John Rich, a 50-year-old Texas country music star, posted his support for Wallen online after his latest arrest.

“Reading about Morgan Wallen this morning, I can’t help but remember all the destructive and crazy things I did early in my career,” he wrote on X.

“The combination of intense pressure, expectations and excessive success makes for a dangerous cocktail. Thank goodness I had great mentors who helped me get out of that mindset, and I hope Morgan has people around him who care enough about him to help him find a new approach to life.
