The Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts says he will visit Donald Trump in the White House with his team next week, despite jumping the same trip in 2019 with the Boston Red Sox.
The Dodgers will meet the president on Monday to celebrate their triumph 2024 World Series before facing the Nationals of Washington. Since Betts rejected the chance to meet Trump as Red Sox champion six years ago, there were question points on him this time.
But addressing La Times, Betts says it will be there on Monday and that the dodgers are now expecting 100%attendance.
“No matter what I say or what I do, people will consider it political,” he said. “It’s not about me; I don’t want nothing to talk about me.
“He comes with the territory, being black in America in a situation like this. It is a difficult place to do.
“No matter what I choose, someone will be P *** Ed. Someone will have their own opinion. But again, it’s not about me. It is not about politics. These are dodgers. It is my loyalty to these boys, this clubhouse. And that’s it for me.

Betts added that he regretted his non-participation for the ceremony at the White House in 2019.
His Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, was also cited by the Times saying: “It was not a question of putting pressure on a particular person. We always think it’s a baseball thing for us. It’s tradition. And we do it unified. So I am excited about this.
The Dodgers are starting a series of three games against the Nationals on Monday in Washington.
