Moises Caicedo scores Chelsea’s first ever goal with outrageous halfway line strike

Chelsea star Moises Caicedo defied the odds by scoring an outrageous goal from the halfway line against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Ecuador international opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge when Neto cleared the ball after rushing out of his goal.

Caicedo touched the ball before unleashing a sublime shot towards goal from behind the halfway line, which sailed into the empty net.

It was the midfielder’s first goal for Chelsea since arriving at the club last summer from Brighton in a £115 million deal.

And his miraculous strike was also the longest scored in a Premier League match since Wayne Rooney (57.7 yards) for Everton in November 2017 at 50.5 yards.

For a player who has been criticized this season, Caicedo seems to have found his feet at Chelsea in recent weeks.

And his goal against Bournemouth capped what was a great end to the season for the 22-year-old.

It’s already an emotional day at Stamford Bridge, where Thiago Silva is playing his final match for the club.

A banner was displayed in the stands to commemorate the Brazilian, who has been a key player for four seasons since signing in 2020, as well as John Terry sending a heartfelt message.

And this could also be Conor Gallagher’s last game for the Blues, strongly linked with a departure this summer.

Tottenham are in the lead for his signature while talkSPORT understands Aston Villa have entered the race.

However, letting Gallagher go has already been condemned by club legend Joe Cole, who believes it would be a huge mistake to sell him.
