Moen to close its North Olmsted headquarters

Moen’s parent company, Fortune Brands Innovations, plans to move all of its major U.S. operations to one large facility in the Chicago area.

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — Faucet and home accessories maker Moen will close its North Olmsted headquarters by next year, its parent company confirmed Wednesday.

In a statement to 3News, a spokesperson for Fortune Brands Innovations said the organization plans to consolidate all of its major U.S. operations into one large facility in Deerfield, Illinois, less than 30 miles north of Chicago . Besides Moen, this could also lead to the closure of several other headquarters in the United States, such as Master Lock in Wisconsin and House of Rohl in California.

In North Olmsted, the closure is expected to occur in summer 2026. Approximately 350 workers will be asked to relocate, and those who choose not to will be “supported by benefits and resources, including severance, COBRA and reclassification services”.

“We are extremely grateful for the long-standing support of the community, which has played an important role in the success of Moen and Fortune Brands Innovations, as well as the talented team we have in North Olmsted,” added the spokesperson. word of the FBIN. “We are committed to treating them with care as they make the decision that is right for them.”

Moen Incorporated was originally founded by Alfred M. Moen, the man credited with inventing the one-handed faucet. A Seattle native, he eventually raised his family in Lorain County, with his company moving from the Pacific Northwest to Elyria in 1956 before that plant closed in 2008. The company’s offices are in North Olmsted since 1994 on Al Moen Drive.

In a press release, Fortune Brands said its new U.S. headquarters will be able to accommodate more than 1,000 associates by the end of 2027. CEO Nicholas Fink called the move a “huge opportunity.”

“Bringing together associates from across our brands and functions in one state-of-the-art campus will help us bring innovations and products to life faster, while making the organization more efficient and aligned,” Fink wrote. “We were fortunate to find a newly built campus in a great location that already has innovative and fun spaces where associates can dream and build, while fostering stronger relationships, collaboration and a sense of community.”

In addition to the United States, Moen also has corporate locations in Canada, Mexico, Guatemala and China.
