Moana 2 Trailer Release Date Confirmed With First Poster

Moana 2 was revealed only a few months ago, but the film’s first trailer is already on the way.

Disney has confirmed that the trailer for the animated sequel will arrive today (May 29) at 1 p.m. The news was announced by Disney on Instagram, who shared a photo of the film’s first poster and wrote: “The ocean calls them back.”

The sequel sees Moana travel to dangerous and long-lost waters on a one-of-a-kind adventure after receiving an unexpected call from her ancestors.

Moana 2 will arrive in US cinemas on November 27 and in UK cinemas on November 29.

Last February, Disney surprised fans by announcing Moana 2 would arrive in theaters later this year.

Originally a TV series was planned to continue The story of Moana, but according to Disney boss Bob Igor, their projects had impressed executives enough to make it into a film.

Following the announcement of the sequel, original Moana Star Auli’i Cravalho has confirmed she will return to voice the title character, while Dwayne Johnson is returning to voice Maui.

Cravalho announced her involvement on Instagram, posting a clip of herself at Disney Animation Studios lip-syncing to Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” with the caption: “That feeling when you officially return to Motunui.”

Moana 2 will be directed by Dave Derrick Jr, with Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa’i writing new songs.

In the meantime, MoanaThe live-action adaptation of received an exciting update earlier this week with Dwayne Johnson confirming that production was set to begin this fall.

Moana 2 is released in US cinemas on November 27 and in UK cinemas on November 29, while Moana is available for streaming on Disney+.
