Missouri man donated $500,000 for equipment for rural firefighters

Mark Hardin’s heart sank when he saw the balance in his town’s volunteer fire department bank account last month: $169. The Calhoun, Missouri, fire department was in desperate need of new equipment and had been using the same equipment since the 1980s.
