Miss Universe Buenos Aires makes history as first 60-year-old woman to win

The winner of Miss Universe 2023 R’Bonney Gabriel announced this exciting change during New York Fashion Week.

“What I like about Miss Universe is that they are always on the front line,” she said. WWD in an interview published September 12, “they are looking for ways to be more inclusive and better live up to the platform they have designed for us.”

She continued: “It’s a bold group of women leading here, and you know what, a lot of people tend to follow what we’re doing. It’s good to be a standard bearer, and I’m proud so that we can do this.”

The organization update closely affects R’Bonney. After all, she brought up the issue during the question segment of the competition.

“For me, I would like to see an increase in age because I am 28,” R’Bonney replied. “And it’s the highest age to compete. And I think that’s a beautiful thing.”

She added: “My favorite quote is: ‘If not now, then when?’ Because as a woman, I believe that age does not define us. It’s not tomorrow, it’s is not yesterday, but it is now.
