Maltaoriginal Eurovision 2025 The song will not see you next Tuesday.
Indeed, when the Maltese artist MIRIENA Tale Performs in the second semi-final of the European music competition on May 15, his act will not perform his selected song “Serving” under his original title.
Although the song of the singer “Kant” – which is the Maltese word for “singing” – was originally accepted by the European Union of Radio -Association (EBU) before the Eurovision of this year, the organization then reversed its decision in March because of the resemblance of the title of the song with a vulgar slang term for part of the female anatomy in English.
“We have just been informed that the European Union of Broadcasting – EBU has decided not to use the word Maltese” Kant “in our entry into the Eurovision SONG competition”, wrote in a walk Facebook job. “Although I am shocked and disappointed, especially since we have less than a week to submit the song, I promise you: the show will continue – Diva Not Down.”
In the original lyrics of the song, which are all in English apart from the word Maltais for “singing”, the choir contained the phrase “Server Kant”, a reference to a popular term in queer culture on being fierce.
