Mindy Kaling welcomed her third child

Mindy Kaling’s family welcomed a brand new member and the actress shared the happy news on Instagram with a sweet message. Kaling is already mother to a 6-year-old daughter named Katherine (although her name is “Kit”) and a 3-year-old son named Spencer. However, in February, the children welcomed a new sister, a baby sister named Anne. In keeping with her usual modus operandi, Kaling’s carousel of photos didn’t show her children’s faces, but gave sweet glimpses of her pregnancy and Anne’s delivery. Today is Kaling’s birthday, and she called Anne’s arrival “the best birthday present.” In another example of his extremely private personal life, Kaling has not revealed who Anne’s father is.

“At the end of February, I gave birth to my daughter, Anne. It was the best birthday present I could have imagined. When things are difficult, every time I turn to cynicism, my three children remind me are so reminiscent of the pure joy of my life,” she captioned the images. “I’m so lucky to live in a place where I could do this myself, on my own schedule. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!”

Speaking about keeping her kids’ faces out of her feed, Kaling previously said People“I feel like I might as well wait until they’re old enough so they can tell me whether or not they want to be on my social media.”

“I’m like any parent where I’m proud of what they do,” she added. “I find them so cute and of course I want others to see it.”

Her previous pregnancies were also a surprise. In 2017, when she was expecting for the first time, she said Sunday today why she preferred to keep the news out of the headlines.

“It’s so unfamiliar to me. I have a lot of control over a lot of aspects of my life, and here I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s not up to me,’ which is kind of funny,” she said.

In 2020, she announced the news of baby no. 2 during an interview with Stephen Colbert.

“I’m saying it for the first time now, it’s so strange. But I gave birth to a baby boy on September 3. This is news to many people. That’s right!” Kaling said. “His name is Spencer. I forgot the most important part of it.”
