Min Woo Lee won his first PGA Tour title on Sunday, holding the late loads of the hunting pack to win the Houston open – and joining an exclusive club with the victory.

Lee had led by five shots on the nine at the back, but overvoltages from Gary Woodland – who went four under his last four holes – and Scottie Scheffler – who also had four consecutive Birdies on the nine rear – made a narrower affair.

Although Lee boomed on the 16th after hitting the water, the Australian was able to finish with two pars and maintain his advance at a blow, tapping at close range in the last hole to seal his first PGA Tour victory.

The 26 -year -old leaning and pumped his fists several times when the victory was confirmed, finishing on a 20 sous 260 after four laps, broke the four -shooting tournament record.

“This is why Sundays are so hard,” said Lee afterwards. “You know people are crawling. You know people attack. ”

Lee celebrated with a video call to his sister, Minjee Lee, who is a double winner of the LPGA tour.

After his victory, the brothers and sisters only become the third couple of brothers to be won both on the PGA and LPGA tour.

The victory at Houston could prove to be a moment of breakthrough for Lee, who finished twice as a finalist on the PGA Tour, with four top-five in his name as well.

He is known for his skillful corner game and a booming journey, but at Memorial Park, his whole game was fused.

A 63 of Sept-Ba in his third round had opened a lead of four strokes before Sunday and it flourished at five when Lee seemed to manage.

The only Blip when it was houston’s stellar outing was when he cut his shot in the water in the 16th row, but he was able to meditate and close the turn without further delay to finally put himself in the circle of the winner.

“It’s difficult – it’s really difficult,” said Lee. “Obviously, Scottie is a wonderful golfer and he keeps you on your guard. The first time I am opposite, I’m happy to have done it. I am very exhausted. It was a lot of mental grind. I am so proud of the way I manipulated myself.”

Lee’s victory is the perfect preparation for the Masters that takes place in April. Subsequently, Woodland was full of praise for the way Lee managed the pressure on the section at the Houston Open.

“Everyone here knows how talented the kid is. It is an absolute stud,” said the 2019 US Open champion. “We all know, once you have pierced, for him, the sky is the limit, if really happy for him. For me, it was great to make these juices flow again, just to see a few results.”
