Miley Cyrus has criticized the Grammy Awards for failing to recognize her work and her impact on pop culture over the past two decades.

Cyrus, 31, who won her first Grammy earlier this year, said W Review that she had a hard time understanding the prerequisites for earning a Grammy.

“No shade, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this is the first time I’ve been taken seriously at the Grammys?” lamented the musician.

“I had a hard time understanding what the measurement is there, because if we want to talk about statistics and numbers, then where the hell was I?”

She continued: “And if you want to talk about, like, the impact on culture, then where was I? It’s not about arrogance. I’m proud of myself.”

“I wrote on this dream board that I wanted to show up to the Grammys with childlike confidence, like when a kid isn’t afraid to take a deep dive or do a backflip because he doesn’t know what’s on the other side.” love you said the singer.

“My 12-year-old self was able to go out and perform, while my 31-year-old self was in Bob Mackie with big hair.”
