Mikel Arteta urges arsenal fans “ playing the game with us ” before the shock of Real Madrid Champions League

Mikel Arteta urged Arsenal supporters to “play the match with us” before the quarter -final of the Tuesday evening Champions League against Real Madrid.

Arsenal hosts the holders in the first stage of this stage, and Arteta says that the team will need the support of the entire Emirates stadium.

The club takes steps to help increase the atmosphere, with plans for a light show, a pyrotechnic, a red and white display that will encompass the whole stadium and two new tifo banners led by fans in the stands.

Arsenal will place a recyclable commemorative plastic bag on each home seat of the Emirates stadium, whose supporters will be invited to raise above the head as the players emerge from the tunnel.

This will transform the stadium into a huge red and white display. Supporters are encouraged to keep the bags as souvenirs or place them in a recycling point specially organized at the stadium. There will also be two large tifos unveiled in the end of the clock and the East, which were designed after consultation with groups of fans.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive at the stadium early to help build the atmosphere. To encourage them, Arsenal grants an offer “Buy one and get one on us” on drinks for the first hour after the stadium is opened.

“I encourage them to come to warm up very early on and to create these nights that we did not live many of those of the Emirates,” explains Arteta.

“We are going to put all the ingredients, everything that is in our hands, to play the game we want and take the game in the direction we want,” Arsenal manager told his pre-match press conference on Monday. “To get there, we will need our people who play each ball with us.

“It will make a huge difference because it is something that is really necessary. At these steps, you need your domestic stage to create a very special atmosphere to generate momentum.

“I encourage everyone to go there tomorrow to play the game with us. Do not be there, but to play the game with us. ”

Arsenal welcomes holders of the competition at the Emirates stadium, hoping to reproduce the feat of bringing them out of the competition – something they achieved in 2006.

“This is why I entered football,” said Arteta. “This is why I entered management and especially to this football club. It’s been 20 years that we had this type of game, and for us, it is an excellent opportunity to build our own story, and that is why we are here.”

There were no new notables for the equality team, Arteta saying that all the players who faced Everton came relatively unscathed – including Ben White, who had precious playing time. Bukayo Saka also faced the media and, when he was asked if he considered himself in good shape to start, replied: “Yeah – there is only one way of knowing it.”
