It seems that what happened in Thailand did not stay in Thailand. Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, the composer behind HBO’s strange score The white lotusRecently revealed in New York Times that he had left the show after three seasons. The reason? Apparently, creator Mike White acted as a diva and they had made heads throughout production. But White is not so sure that he would describe their creative differences in the same way.
Tuesday April 8, White called The Howard Stern show And responded to the interview and recent charges of Tapia de Veer. “Honestly, I don’t know what happened except now that I read his interviews because he decides to do a public relations campaign about him leaving the show,” said White. “I don’t think he respected me. He wants people to know that he is pissed off and dark and I don’t know, as I watched reality TV. ” I mean, it’s a bit true. During the interview, Tapia de Veer described her style as “super dark and upset” while White had more than one “cold, sexy” atmosphere with regard to his vision of music – another point of alleged discord between the two.
But it seems that White does not remember that there were pure and simple arguments. “I do not think I have never had a fight with him, with the exception of certain emails … I do not think he liked to go through the process of obtaining notes from me, or to want revisions, because he does not respect me,” continued White. “I knew he was not a team player and that he wanted to do it. Times To shit on me and the show three days before the final, “he said.” It was a kind of bitch movement. “”
Maybe White seemed to speculate, the success had gone to the head of the composer. “He had won Emmys and he had his viral song, so he didn’t want to go through the process …” said White. “He always looked at me with that contemptuous smile on his face every time he took care of me because I just think he thought I was a chimpanzee or something.” However, the creator of the show admits that Tapia de Veer “is very talented”. Man gave us these hypnotics OOH-LOOOS, after all.
Regardless of the scenarios that White Dreams for season four (maybe a drama in the workplace between two creative duels …) all that I really hope is a continuation of tense, frightening and anxious music. Or maybe White can fully kiss her passion for reality TV and book Dorit Kemsley to make beats. Whoever wins the phone first.
