Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin spoke to journalists from the League meetings in Palm Beach and team conversations with Aaron Rodgers on Sunday.
Tomlin confirmed that Rodgers had visited the team’s facilities in Pittsburgh earlier this month to discuss the possibility of joining the Steelers. Tomlin said it was a “very good day”, but did not bring many other lights on things with the quadruple MVP of the NFL.
“It was really good to spend time together and get to know each other more intimately, but it’s a free agency,” said Tomlin, via Brooke Pryor from Espn.com. “It’s a process.
Tomlin said there was no time limit for the team to sign Rodgers or any other quarter. He said that the team was going to continue to assess the options in both free agency and the project – they would have been set to meet Ole Miss Jaxson Dart – For the moment.
Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson have both signed with the team since the end of the 2024 season while Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and Kyle Allen have all signed with other teams. Wilson signed with the Giants, which removed the NFC East Club from the table as a possible landing point for Rodgers.
Unless the Vikings Revisit their current courseIt seems to leave the Steelers like Rodgers’ best chance to start in 2025, but it seems that everyone is ready to continue playing the waiting game a little longer.
