Microsoft would have dismissed the staff whose protest interrupted his Copilot event

Monday, Microsoft would have ended the roles of two software engineers, Ibtihal Aboussad and Vaniya Agrawal, who protested against the reported relations of the company with the Israeli army at the co -pilot and the 50th anniversary of Microsoft last week.

According to an internal message seen by CNBC, Microsoft wrote that Aboussad could have been concerned “confidentially with your manager or with relations with global employees. Instead, you have chosen to intentionally disturb the discourse of the CEO of Microsoft AI, Mustafa Suleyman. ”

Last Friday, during the event, Aboussad shouted that Suleyman had “blood on his hands”, interrupting him while he delivered a speech on new IA products. Later in the day, Agrawal intervened during a panel featuring Microsoft Satya Nadella’s CEO, the former CEO Steve Ballmer and the founder Bill Gates, shouting “Shame on you all … cut the links with Israel”.

Shortly after incidents, Aboussad sent an email to Microsoft staff and managers saying that the company had silenced certain dissident employees, according to CNBC. The email contained a link to a petition of “No Azure for Apartheid”, a group of Microsoft staff who made the headlines for their protests against the work of the company with Israel in the past.
