(CBS DETROIT) – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced 29,267 coronavirus cases in the state and 78 more deaths this week.
This brings the total of COVID-19 cases to 2,501,863 and 36,218 died on May 18.

This is how the data is updated:
- Case and death data will be updated once a week on Wednesday.
- Case and death data will include confirmed and probable cases and deaths.
- The county’s cumulative COVID-19 case rate map has been replaced with a CDC COVID-19 community levels map and will be updated on Friday.
