He was one of the rare public acts he did since his tragic ski accident 12 years ago. Schumacher is a world champion seven times and one of the biggest drivers in the history of F1.
A rare and emotional gesture of Schumacher
Schumacher signed a special race helmet belonging to another F1 legend, Sir Jackie Stewart with the help of his wife, Corinna Schumacher. He wrote his initials “MS” on the helmet, which is now even more special because it includes the signatures of the 20 world champions of living formula.

This helmet will be sold at auction to collect funds for the charity of Jackie Stewart, a Against dementia race, who works hard to find a cure for the disease. Addressing the Daily Mail, Stewart said: “It is wonderful that Michael could sign the helmet in this good cause – a disease for which there is no remedy. His wife helped him, and he finished all of each champion with us.”
Schumacher’s gesture makes fans emotional, because it has not been seen in public since its serious head of the head during skiing in the French Alps in 2013. It was put in a medically induced coma and would still require full -time care at home. His condition was kept private by his wife.
Meanwhile, Stewart even took the wheel of his old Tyrrell 006 car, the one he led to win his last F1 title. This touching moment occurred during a special celebration of the 75th anniversary of Formula 1 at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The opportunity also marked Stewart’s 60th anniversary in F1 and the 10th anniversary of his charity.
