Actor Michael Pitt, known for his television roles on “Boardwalk Empire” and “Dawson’s Creek”, is accused of having sexually assaulted his ex-girlfriend, to stifle and attack him with a parpanner and a piece of wood in his house in New York, according to a great act of jury.
Pitt, 44, whose lawyers denied allegations, was arrested on Friday for nine charges, including first degree sexual abuse, criminal sexual acts, assaults, attempted assault and strangulation. The accusation act cites four incidents between April 2020 and August 2021 at the Pitt home in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn district prosecutor’s office, Eric Gonzalez, refused to comment on Wednesday beyond the allegations listed in the indictment.
Pitt’s lawyer Jason Goldman said he had already exempted evidence and expected the case to be rejected.
“Unfortunately, we live in a world where someone like Mr. Pitt – an accomplished professional who would never contemplate these crimes – can be arrested on the non -corroborated word of an unreliable person,” Goldman told a text message to the Associated Press.
He added: “In reality, this baseless affirmation raised an increase of four or five years after the alleged incident, from a time when the two parties were in a completely consensual relationship.”
Pitt pleaded not guilty to the accusations on Friday and put a deposit of $ 100,000, said Goldman. He had to return to the court in Brooklyn on June 17.
The Associated Press generally does not name people who say they have been sexually abused unless they manifest themselves publicly, which the woman in the case of Pitt has not done.
The accusation act alleys that Pitt has forcefully touched his ex-girlfriend sexually in April 2020. In August 2020, the Grand Jury alleged that Pitt forced oral sex on women and attacked it with a piece of 4-inch wooden wood (10 centimeter per 10 centimeter).
The indictment also says that Pitt attacked him with a concrete block twice in June 2021 and strangled it in August 2021.
Pitt, who grew up at West Orange, New Jersey, played the character Jimmy Darmody for two seasons on HBO “Boardwalk Empire”, with the distribution led by Steve Buscemi Gain Screen Actors Guild Award in 2011 and 2012 for his exceptional performances of a set in a dramatic series. The show also won a Golden Globe for the best dramatic series in 2011.
Its first major role occurred in the 2001 film “Hedwig and the Angry Inch”. In 2005, he played in “Last Days”, the film by director Gus Van Sant on a fictitious rock star inspired by the singer of Nirvana, Kurt Cobain. He also played Henry Parker in a WB “Dawson’s Creek” season in 1999-2000.
