And usually, that might not be a big deal. But in this case, it’s huge, because it reveals how Chad Duell is going to leave the show!
Apparently, Sonny’s penthouse catches fire – and so does Michael. Although Jason, as required by his job as protector of the Corinthos family, rushes into the fire in hopes of saving Carly and AJ’s son, Michael is “completely engulfed”.
If the teasing Eastin fact, the one that ABC’s only daytime drama was planning to release next week, it’s safe to assume that no bodies will be found – and if they are, it won’t be the one by Michael. That way, if the Emmy winner decides to reprise his role, Michael’s miraculous return can be explained without Port Charles adding another zombie to its population.

At the end of December, Duell explained the reasons for his departure. “This break… there are several things behind it. As people know, my father passed away, and I’m still coming to terms with that, and also, my intention was to spend some time in Arizona, but that’s getting a little harder to do,” given that his important Luana Lucci goes to school in Los Angeles and their son Dawson’s daycare is in California.

“Right now, I’m just trying to do things mentally, physically, prepare myself for whatever comes…the next chapters,” he continued. “We’ll see what happens in the future, but right now I’m just trying to grow in a way that maybe I’ve been stifling myself.
