Michael caught in Sonny’s crossfire on Jan. 6 at General Hospital…again

Michael goes out in a blaze of glory after being caught in yet another attack on Sonny on the January 6, 2025 episode of General Hospital.

Things are heating up

Michael’s (Chad Duell, who recently opened up about his decision to leave GH) marriage has exploded since Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) affair became public. But the final straw was Willow taking their son out of state without his permission, and straight to Drew’s swearing-in ceremony in Washington DC.

While Willow cried to Drew after receiving the divorce papers, Michael confided in Sonny (Maurice Benard) about the end of his marriage and Willow’s betrayal that led to it. While Sonny comforted his son, Carly (Laura Wright) spoke to Jason (Steve Burton, who just announced his engagement) after learning that Willow had snuck out with Drew again.

In flames

When Jason arrived at the penthouse to talk business, he and Sonny went into the hallway while Michael stayed to calm down. But his moment of peace suddenly turned to horror when a bomb fell down the chimney and erupted in a fiery explosion. When Jason and Sonny rushed inside, Michael was engulfed in flames and called for help.

This is far from the first time Michael has been caught in the crossfire by Sonny. The first time was when 12-year-old Michael joined his father at the warehouse, only to be shot in the head by a ricochet bullet intended for Sonny. This accident left Michael in a coma for a year, and now it is unknown how long it will take for Michael to recover from his burns.
