Michael Azzolino named VP Drama, NNE Ebong was also promoted to Netflix

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has raised two VP level development frames, Michael Azzolino and Nne Ebong, with new or enlarged responsibilities.

Netflix Azzolino, based in Europe, returns to the United States to become VP, Scripted Drama Series Development. From his new job in July, Azzolino will fall under Jinny Howe, vice-president of the dramatic series of Netflix. He will assume the responsibilities previously held by Howe before being promoted a year ago to supervise the entire dramatic stream portfolio. The high -level work had been open for almost a year, with a certain number of executives outside of Netflix envisaged.

Ebong, who managed the Netflix Studio team as VP, Global Deals, is being reduced to VP, Studio Scripted Series. Report also to Howe, she now oversees the creation and development of all internal emissions and franchises, adding projects based on an IP address belonging to Netflix such as the Roald Dahl catalog to its field.

Howe is from Peter Friedlander, vice-president of the scripted series for the United States and Canada.

For Azzolino, this marks a return to the American dramatic series market where the American framework worked for more than a decade and a half before joining Netflix in 2018 as vice-president, content, Benrlux / EEC / Turkey based in The Netherlands.

Before that, he was creative business EVP for ITV Studios America in Los Angeles for two years. He spent 11.5 years in Jerry Bruckheimer TV as SVP, where he worked on a list of series that included Lucifer, A dramatic series that has found a second life – and a worldwide success – on Netflix.

Azzolino began his career at NBC before joining WB Television Network and finally in transition to CBS Productions as director, Drama Series.

Before joining Netflix in November 2020, Ebong was a creative head at the Independent Wiip studio. Before that, she spent 12 years in ABC Studios, reaching the svp of dramatic development.
