No. 2 Miami returns from its second bye week to defend its unbeaten record Friday night in a showpiece matchup against Louisville. The battle-tested Hurricanes made it through the most grueling part of their schedule unscathed and enter their second ACC game as two-touchdown favorites. Louisville (4-1, 1-1 ACC) also just bowed out after losing 30-27 to Virginia on Oct. 4. It’s been a quiet start to the year for the Cardinals, but they can change that with an upset against the Hurricanes.
USC transfer Miller Moss has thrown for more than 300 yards in Louisville’s last three games while starting to find a rhythm in coach Jeff Brohm’s high-flying offense. The Hurricanes are familiar with the rigors of Brohm’s defensive scheme after surviving a 52-45 win over Louisville last season. The last time these teams played in Miami, Louisville got the better of the Hurricanes with a 38-31 victory in 2023. Given the recent history of close, high-scoring games, it wouldn’t be surprising if there were fireworks this time as well.
