Miami Dolphins Line Joum Terron Armstead, 33, chooses to retire

Miami – Dolphin’s offensive line player, Terron Armstead, announced his retirement on Saturday evening, ending his 12 -year -old NFL career.

Armstead, 33, announced the news at a party he organized in Miami to celebrate his next chapter, with several former teammates present.

The pro -Bowl’s five -time show has signed a $ 75 million contract over five years with the Dolphins in 2022 and spent three seasons as the team’s departure left tackle. During this period, he was appointed in two pro bowls and was a team captain three times.

A choice of third round on the Arkansas-Pine Bluff by the New Orleans in 2013, the native of Cahokia, Illinois, established a record of combination of NFL scouts for an offensive line with a dash of 40 seconds of 40 seconds.

Armstead spent his first nine seasons with the saints before signing with Miami, where he immediately took on a role of veteran leadership for a team in the middle of several coaching and alignment changes.

While he played a decisive role in the development of offensive line players such as Austin Jackson and Patrick Paul, Armstead has also proven to be influential for players on the other side of the ball, including the choice of first round in 2024.

“You just have to get an offensive perspective, especially against one of the greatest, to learn from him,” said Robinson in August. “I go against him in practice, and he does things that I have never seen before from an O-Lineman.

“He gave me advice on how I could work on it. I can’t say the advice, but it really worked.”

Armstead’s retirement leaves the dolphins without a left departure tackle, although the choice of 2024 second round Paul should fill the vacancy. Miami coach Mike McDaniel told NFL Scouting journalists in February that the team operated this offseason as if Armstead would not return in 2025.

He also left Miami without two of the most respected voices of his locker room, after Calais Campbell signed with the Arizona Cardinals earlier this week. Several players and McDaniel admit to need a stronger culture of responsibility in the future, and they will have to find a way to replace nearly three decades of experience in the NFL.
