The Concierge Desk, equipment from Las Vegas Hotel-Casino for decades, seems to be on the way to extinction. MGM Resorts International confirmed on Saturday that it closes the concierge services in person in most of its Strip Stands stands.
According to an email published by a company representative, Monday offices must close to MGM Grand, The Signature, New York-New York, Mandalay Bay, Park MGM and Vdara.
There is no change in operations at Aria Resort & Casino, Bellagio Hotel & Casino and Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Concierge calls to MGM Resorts will be sent to Aria and Bellagio. Luxor cut off his concierge office years ago.
MGM Resorts reports that 34 employees lose their jobs following what the company calls “rationalization”. (The company says that the relationships of the concierge community according to which around 60 positions have been reduced are inaccurate).
The displaced people have offered positions elsewhere in the company or receive support in transition.
MGM representatives say that reductions must respond to “preferences invited in evolution”, the demand for declining person services. Customers who are looking for such assistance more often use digital self-service options.
In March, MGM Resorts reduced the staff of Valet and Bell Services in Excalibur, who is positioned through the Stade of the Athletics Stadium entering the old Tropicana site. The company maintains that they are not part of the company’s budget cuts, a generalized layoff initiative, or everything that indicates economic concerns.
Instead, the company says it must respond to industry trends to better serve guests.
