Mexican singer Julión Álvarez announced the postponement of his Saturday concert at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas, saying that his work visa had been revoked.
Álvarez, the promoter of the CMN show and the management company Copar Music said that the show had been canceled “due to unforeseen circumstances” and that Álvarez was “unable to enter the United States in time for the event”.
The 42 -year -old musician also explained the postponement of his fans on Instagram on Friday, saying in a video that they had been officially informed on May 23 that the work visas for Álvarez and his group comrades were canceled before the concert of May 24.
“Visa files are confidential under US law; therefore, we cannot comment on individual cases,” a spokesperson for the State Department told NBC News when he asked for comments.
Nearly 50,000 tickets were sold for the show on Saturday, according to the artist’s statement. The promoters and the Álvarez team said they were actively working to reprogram the performance and that all of the previously purchased tickets will be eligible for the new date.
If customers cannot attend the new date, details will be provided to request a refund, according to the press release.
The performance of Saturday would have been the fourth American show of Álvarez on the “4218 Tour USA 2025”, after three shows in April at the Sofi stadium in California.
The regional Mexican music interpreter would have already directed the INS with the American government due to accusations of money laundering in 2017 in connection with the Mexican drug chevron Raul Flores Hernandez.
Álvarez, known as “the King of the Box-Office”, was put on black list by the control of the Treasury department of foreign assets that year, but was then removed in May 2022.
The Álvarez team did not immediately respond to a request for comments from NBC. Álvarez has already categorically denied having links with Hernandez.
