Mets’ Edwin Diaz ejected against Cubs after umpires check for sticky substance

Mets closer Edwin Diaz was thrown out without throwing a pitch.

Diaz’s hands were checked for the presence of an illegal substance in the top of the ninth inning as the Mets led the Cubs 5-2 at Wrigley Field on Sunday night.
