Metallica finally brought “entering Sandman” to the Lane stadium by Virginia Tech – 25 years after he became a school tradition as a media threshing in the day of the Hokies game.

Finally, Metallica herself went to Blacksburg for a concert at Lane Stadium on Wednesday May 7 as part of their current “M72 tour.

The special concert was opened with an intro which simulated the disengagement of the football team, with a recording of “Enter Sandman” sending the crowd in a frenzy, as captured in images of the public. From there, Metallica embarked on an interpretation of opening of “crawling death” before browsing their “M72” typical career setlist, which closed with a real performance live from “Enter Sandman”, the reaction of the crowd apparently on the Richter scale.
Even Virginia Tech’s current head coach, Brent Pry, was present, taking the concert of his private suite at the stadium. Before the show, he met the members of Metallica, each presenting a Hokies n ° 25 jersey and a jersey n ° 72, commemorating the “M72” tour.
The technical tradition of Metallica-Virginia is deep and even took a tragic turn in 2009 when a student from Virginia Tech, Morgan Dana Harrington, disappeared as a metallica concert in Charlottesville, in Virginia, and was finally found to have been murdered.
