Metairie man accused of assaulting 2 girls and exposing one to HIV | Crime/Police

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators have arrested a Metairie man accused of sexually abusing two girls and exposing one of them to HIV.

The Sheriff’s Office began the investigation Feb. 13 after a Metairie elementary school contacted authorities about a female student who reported being assaulted, according to Jefferson Parish Court officials.

The girl identified Ronald Fruchtnicht as the suspect, authorities said.

Fruchtnicht was known to the girl’s family. On several occasions, when she was between the ages of 7 and 12, the girl told investigators that he would show her pornography, expose her genitals and ask her to reproduce what was in the videos, they said. authorities.

As detectives investigated the initial allegations, they became aware of another victim. The girl, whose family also knows Fruchtnicht, told investigators that when she was 5, he took off her clothes in front of her while they were alone in a room and exposed himself, authorities said.

Fruchtnict is accused of making him take off his shorts and committing an inappropriate act. He then took a photo of the girl’s private parts, she said, and threatened to show the photo if she told anyone what happened.

While investigating allegations involving the second victim, detectives learned that Fruchtnicht was HIV positive, authorities said.

He was arrested May 16 and charged with six counts of sexual assault of a minor under 13 and intentional exposure of a victim to HIV, according to jail records.

Jefferson Parish Criminal Commissioner Paul Schneider set Fruchtnicht’s bond at $175,000 during a hearing Monday. Fruchtnicht was held Tuesday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna.
