- Instagram has a new application to compete with the Tiktok Capcut publishing application.
- The “Changes” application will be launched on March 31 and some creators already have access.
- A new tag will appear for videos that are changed in the application.
The Instagram battle with Tiktok has entered the field of video publishing.
In January, the meta-ownership platform announced that it would launch “the modifications”, a separate application for the edition of videos this year. It is a clear decision to compete with the own editing application of Tiktok Parent Bytedance, Capcut, which could also stop operating in the United States due to a divestment or bank law.
This week, Instagram began to add a label to certain videos with a “Made With Edits” tag on publications. When you click on the tag, he invites you to download before downloading the Edits application, which should be launched on March 31. On Tiktok, the videos published in Capcut using models have a similar tag that directs users to Capcut.
If a video is modified in the Edits application and someone publishes the video on Instagram from the changes, the tag will appear.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Adam Mosseri, the best Instagram executive, posted coils with this label this week. The label “Made with Edits” will soon appear on more videos as an Instagram onboards creators who have had early access to test the application. A talent official told Bi that one of their creative customers already had access.
The coils made in the changes will also be optimized for high -resolution video – up to 2K resolution. (Last month, some users spotted this language in the Instagram application when publishing coils: “The coils made with the modifications are optimized for high quality playback on Instagram.”)
Perhaps you ask: will this affect the way the coils work or are classified on Instagram?
At present, Instagram does not give a preferential classification to the coils with the “Made With Edits” tag, confirmed the company to BI.
