Meta’s new application supported content creators to help it take off.
The company unveiled on Tuesday an autonomous Meta AI application, coinciding with Llamacon, its first AI developer event.
“There are almost a billion people who use Meta AI in our applications now,” said Mark Zuckerberg in a video announcing the new application.
The Meta AI application gives users access to an AI assistant, similar to other AI applications such as the Openai Chatgpt application. Meta’s main argument to users is that its new AI Assistant application, which is built on the latest Meta Llama 4 model, “gets to know” user preferences, remembers the context and is personalized. It is also a companion application for Ray-Ban-Ban Glasses with AI of Meta.
One thing that distinguishes it from Chatgpt and other AI competitors: the new application has a social flow where users can share with which they cause Meta AI.
Before the arrival of the application, the creators aboard Meta were therefore a content desert and also looked for their comments. On the day of its launch, Meta Ai’s “Discover” flow was already filled with Meta employees employees, as well as content creators such as travel bloggers, memes manufacturers, technology enthusiasts and artists.
Meta Creator’s partnership teams have contacted influencers in recent weeks to integrate them into the new application, several creators and talent managers told Business Insider. These content creators had early access to Meta AI last week, but said they were not paid by Meta to use the application.
How creators use Meta Ai
The first day of the Meta AI flow included a mixture of guests shared by the creators. Some shared images generated by AI, such as versions of themselves with different eyes. Others have shared text prompts like “100 men vs 1 gorilla, who will win?” Posted by the same page Hoodville (which has 9 million Instagram followers).
Users can choose the prompts they share publicly.
“It will not only be every thought that I have, it will be really organized,” said the creator of even, Vanessa Vice. One of his first public prompts was to ask Meta A like to “imagine the means of John Mayer”, who then spat images of John Mayer carrying John Mayer Merch.
“The application discovery flow is like a version of the OG Facebook flow, but has only focused on AI use cases,” said Mike Proulx, vice-president of Forrester Research.
However, the social characteristics of Meta AI are limited.
Although users can like publications, respond to IA prompts from others and share publications on other applications such as Instagram, Whatsapp or Threads, Meta IA is not yet a full-fledged social media platform. For example, there is currently no way to follow profiles on the application, although some creators have their Instagram pages linked to their Meta AI profiles. There is also no way to seek creators or public accounts.
“It is not necessarily a question of building a suite there,” said Andrew Wille, a photographer who had early access to Meta Ai. Instead, Wille said he used public flow to “learn to better provoke Meta Ai”.
The educational component is an essential part of the Meta AI application flow.
“You can publish one of your prompts to inspire others and help them learn,” the application told users.
Despite the limits at the moment, some believe that IA prompts could become a new form of content for creators.
“I want to see how the others write prompts, and I am sure that other people want to see the type of prompt I write,” said Sundas Khalid, creator of technological and scientific content of data. “The LLM are as good as the prompts we write.”
