The 2025 Gala is fast approaching.
The actors, billionaires and other stars will visit New York on May 5 to attend the prestigious fundraising organized by Anna Wintour, Vogue and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
They will cross the famous red carpet through the museum’s steps, put photos and show breathtaking sets of some of the best designers in the world.
This year’s ball will honor male fashion and black dandyism with its theme, and people like Lewis Hamilton and Pharrell Williams co -chair the event.

As Vogue reported it in October, the spring exhibition of the Institute costume and the theme of the Gala puts 2025 will be entitled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”.
The two “will take the black dandy as a subject” and closely examine “the importance of clothes and style for the formation of black identities in the Atlantic diaspora,” said Vogue.
The general theme was inspired by Monica Miller’s book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diaasporic Identity”, while the exhibition will also be inspired by Zora Neale Hurston’s test in 1934, “The characteristics of black expression”.
Dandyism refers to men of the 18th and 19th centuries who generally idealize feudal values, were very proud of their appearances and strive to be gentlemen.
Black dandyism, however, is more specifically “a strategy and a tool to rethink identity, to reinvent the ego in a different context. To really repel a border – especially during the time of slavery, to really repel a border on which and what matters as human, even,” Miller told Vogue.
He also “represents the fate to become fashion and culture giants,” wrote Tayler Adigun for Ebony.
This is the first exhibition of the Institute of Costumes to focus on male fashion since its “Men in Jirts” display between November and February 2003.
Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams and all those involved
This year, Hamilton, Williams, Colman Domingo and ASAP Rocky will be co -president alongside Wintour, while LeBron James will be an honorary president. It will be the first appearance of the Met Gala of the basketball legend.

An assortment of big names will also be a host committee, while the museum has gathered for the previous bullets. Although Vogue did not share a lot of details concerning the functions of this group, they confirmed to attend a special dinner before the gala.
The latest committee includes nominated and winning musicians at Grammy Awards Doechii, Janelle Monáe, Tyla, Usher, André 3000 and Audra McDonald.
Ayo Edebiri, Spike Lee, Jeremy Pope and Regina King are also included, just like the playwright Jeremy O. Harris and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.
The movie producer Tonya Lewis Lee is on the list alongside fashion designers Dapper Dan, Olivier Rousteing and Grace Wales Bonner.
Writers Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Edward Enninful, and artists Rashid Johnson, Jordan Casteel and Kara Walker also have spots.
Finally, the Simone Biles athletes, Jonathan Owens, Angel Reese and Sha’Carri Richardson will be involved.
Expect to see a ton of male fashion trends
Vogue reported that the Gala Dress code is 2025 is entitled “Tailored for you”. Although it is not strict – the publication has declared that it “invites creative interpretation” – the dress code will serve as a guide so that the participants remain on the theme.
Because the theme is largely focused on male fashion and dandyism, Vogue said that we can expect to see a variety of costumes, men’s accessories like pocket squares and perhaps even canes.
