WNBA star Angel Reese and golf icon Nelly Korda were among the athletes who walked the red carpet at Monday night’s Met Gala.
Celebrities from music, television, film and sports descended on New York for the annual fundraising gala in Manhattan.
The theme of this year’s Met Gala is “Sleeping Beauties: Awakening Fashion” and the event fell on Reese’s 22nd birthday.
“I’m just excited to see everyone’s outfits – everyone looks beautiful,” she said. “I’ve always dreamed of this moment, so to be here on my 22nd birthday is incredible.

The 22-year-old had training camp Monday morning and will participate in a preseason game Tuesday. “Just another day in the life of Angel Reese,” added the WNBA on X.

Meanwhile, Korda, a 13-time LPGA Tour winner, was the guest of Casey Wasserman, director of sports marketing and talent management giant Wasserman.
Korda, 25, was dressed in a red and green floral dress designed by Oscar de la Renta. It was her first time attending the event in New York.

Korda seeks her sixth straight LPGA Tour victory this week at the Cognizant Founders Cup in Clifton, New Jersey.
The Florida native is currently the No. 1 female golfer in the world. She will try to win a second Olympic gold medal at this summer’s Games in Paris.
Reese was recently selected seventh overall by Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft, following a stellar college career that began at Maryland and ended at LSU.
Ben Simmons also attended the Met Gala and the Brooklyn Nets star sported an interesting outfit that drew scorn from many fans.
Simmons wore a jacket and coat with checkered designs on the top, accented with rings, a watch and a briefcase with a huge clock on it.

Reese was recently selected seventh overall by Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Sports fans praised Simmons for his style choice — especially after the Nets star only played 15 games this NBA season.
He missed the first 38 games of the season, then played until early March before being ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a lower back nerve damage.
Social media took particular interest in the clock case, with many mocking Simmons for missing too much time in recent seasons.
“Wearing a clock when you have no minutes played this season is insane,” one Twitter user wrote.
