The content of the letter from First Lady Melania Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin has now been revealed, including a plea for the Russian chief “the melodic laugh” of children affected by his war in Ukraine.
The first lady, who did not go to Alaska with her husband for her meeting with Putin on Friday, sent a letter instead, which Fox News has since published, who calls her “letter of peace”.
Although the White House did not respond to a request from the daily beast to confirm the authenticity of the letter, the first lady tweeted a link with Fox News, apparently confirming her precision herself.
Before the revelation of the content of the letter, two unnamed managers of the White House told Reuters that the missive mentioned the mass kidnappings of Ukrainian children by Russia as part of its current invasion. However, Trump’s message avoids details – the word “Ukraine” is not used once – by opting for a flowery language that dances around the subject.
“Each child shares the same quiet dreams in his heart, whether they were born at random in the rustic countryside of a nation or a magnificent city center. They dream of love, possibility and safety of danger,” he begins.
“As parents, it is our duty to feed the hope of the next generation. As leaders, the responsibility of supporting our children extends beyond the comfort of a few. Undeniably, we must strive to paint a world full of dignity for all-so that each soul can wake up to peace, and that the future itself is perfectly kept.”

Trump continues “, a simple but deep concept, Mr. Putin, as I am sure that you agree, is that the descendants of each generation begin their lives with purity – an innocence which is above geography, government and ideology.”
“However, in today’s world, some children are forced to wear a quiet laugh, intact by darkness around them – a silent distrust of forces that can potentially claim their future. Mr. Putin, you can restore their melodic laugh alone.”
The letter ends with a last call to Putin ego, reading: “By protecting the innocence of these children, you will more than serve Russia alone – you serve humanity itself. A also daring idea transcends all human division, and you, Mr. Putin, are in the form of implementing this vision with a feather today. It’s time. “
The White House did not immediately respond to the request for confirmation of the daily beast on the content of Melania’s letter.

The letter is not the first time that the First Lady has been looking to intervene in the name of Ukraine. She previously convinced her husband to resume the supply of arms to Ukraine and warned the president that Putin did not negotiate in good faith.
It is largely believed that up to 35,000 Ukrainian children have disappeared since February 2022, far from home in Russia or territories occupied by Russia after being transferred to detention camps or placed in Russian families.
Russia argues that Ukrainian children took to protect them from the current conflict. The International Criminal Court has pending arrest mandates for Putin and the Russian Children’s Commissioner for violating the Geneva conventions by engaging in illegal expulsion of children.
Russia has rejected previous calls for children to have returned, with a Kremlin official accusing Ukraine to “stage a show on the subject of lost children aimed at Europeans with good heart”, adding that Kyiv tries to “get a tear out by raising this question”.
