Mehmet Oz warns John Fetterman is ‘out of touch’ with drugs at Mexican border

Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Mehmet Oz said Tuesday night that Democrat John Fetterman’s views on border security and immigration were a recipe for disaster.

During their first debate in their battle for Pennsylvania’s open seat, Mr. Oz said Mr. Fetterman supports “open border” policies that will increase the flow of fentanyl into the country and continue to destroy lives across the country. Pennsylvania.

“Yet John Fetterman not only wants an open border, not only supports sanctuary cities, but he wants to legalize all hard drugs in America, including narcotics,” Oz said. “It’s disconnected from everyone.”

Mr Fetterman accused Mr Oz of lying about his drug record despite saying in previous interviews that he was for “decriminalization at all levels”.

Asked by moderators to respond to Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent assertion that the US-Mexico border is secure, Fetterman said his approach to immigration seeks to balance border security with compassion.

“I believe we need a comprehensive, bipartisan solution for our immigration,” he said.

“I don’t remember in the Statue of Liberty they say, you know, ‘take our weary, huddled masses and put them on a bus and use cheap political stunts on them,'” an allusion to the recent actions of Republican governors on the border states sending illegals into northern liberal strongholds.

Pushing back, Mr Oz said Mr Fetterman wasn’t “addressing the elephant in the room – fentanyl”, but the debate moderators then changed the subject.
