Meghan Markle shares some of her favorite things
While the series highlights Meghan’s love of hosting, cooking, gardening and decorating, it also highlights some of her other interests.
For example, in one episode she hosted a game night for her friends.
“We all started learning mahjong together in recent months,” she said. “Mahjong started in China in the 1800s, and we play a version called American mahjong. What I really like about mahjong is the game itself is really fun, but what was so great was the idea of learning something new with your friends and then recognizing that mahjong becomes the background for the expansion of friendship.”
In another episode, her friend, the founder of Tatcha Vicky Tsaisaid Meghan also loves pickleball while the Duchess herself revealed some of her favorite music genres.
“I listen to a lot of ’70s soft rock, a lot of yacht rock and a lot of soul,” Meghan said in episode five, “and then French music for dinner parties.”
And when it comes to food, she said she has a “very, very high tolerance” for spices.
“Even at a young age, we didn’t have much, but we traveled,” she said. “My mom was a travel agent. We tried so many different flavors and different places. My mom made gumbo, and Soul food has a lot of flavor and a lot of heat. I crave it and I’m always drawn to that level of heat. So I introduce my family to my palate, but I love it.”
