Meghan Markle has a ‘good excuse’ to refuse UK reunion with Kate Middleton, Prince William: expert

Meghan Markle has the perfect excuse to turn down an invitation to the UK from Kate Middleton and Prince William, according to a royal expert.

The Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly asked the Sussexes to bring their children with them on their next visit to the UK, but apparently Markle politely declined the offer.

“Meghan obviously doesn’t want to visit Britain because she’s not popular here. Neither does Harry, but it’s different for him. That’s what she asked for,” commentator and royal historian Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun.

“If she comes there will be huge negative publicity because of the way she has acted over the last four years. On top of that, there’s the matter of Archie and Lilibet – who are completely beyond reproach.

Fitzwilliams also said the fact that the Sussexes lost their bid for taxpayer-funded British security protection would also be an “excuse” not to visit.

“Security would be decided on a case-by-case basis, they would ensure that the journey was safe from a UK perspective,” he continued. “I think security could be used as an excuse not to come.”

“Meghan has every right to come but they were kicked out of Frogmore and for good reason,” Fitzwilliams added.

“Spare and the interviews around him were frankly horrible. She has the perfect excuse not to come because Harry lost his security file.

Wales have had a years-long rift with the Sussexes, but it was recently reported that the pair may be looking to bury the hatchet once and for all.

Princess Kate was all for seeing Archie and Lilibet in England, but the Duchess of Sussex, 42, wasn’t so keen, royal author Tom Quinn said this week.

“There is no way Meghan will bring the children to the UK,” Quinn told the Mirror.

“William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the kids and that the two couples and their families try to reconcile, but that suggestion is going nowhere so far.”

Archie and Lilibet last visited the UK during the late Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee in June 2022.

Markle, for her part, returned to England for the final time for the Queen’s funeral in September of that year.

Sources, however, deny the new report. The Post has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.

Harry and Meghan did not bring their children with them for security reasons, as the Sussexes were deprived of Britain’s taxpayer-funded security protection.

This means both men will pay out of pocket for their security upon their return to Harry’s home soil.
