She is no longer blind to comments.
Megan Fox has officially responded to comments that she and “Love Is Blind” star Chelsea Blackwell look alike.
“I’ve never had so many people texting me about something,” Fox, 37, told E! News Saturday during an appearance at Revolve Festival 2024. “Because I don’t watch a lot of TV.”
“But a lot of people texted me and stopped me,” the “Transformers” alum continued. “Even other celebrities at parties like the Oscars were like, ‘Are you watching ‘Love is Blind?’ And I was like, “No, but I know what you’re talking about.”
“I haven’t watched it, but I think in general no one deserves to be bullied,” the “Jennifer’s Body” star said, referring to the backlash that Blackwell, 31, , received for making this comment. “I don’t think she deserved that. I think people went too hard.
Despite being the butt of several memes and jokes on the Internet, Fox said she can see a little bit of herself in the reality star.
“I saw a photo of her,” the actress said. “One hundred thousand percent, people said to her, ‘You look a little like Megan Fox.’ So I believe she’s telling the truth and I hope she still has that sparkle in her eye. I hope the world hasn’t stolen it from him.
The lookalike drama began in February during the Netflix reality show’s sixth season when Blackwell and her soon-to-be ex-fiancé, Jimmy Presnell, 27, were in the “pods” and Presnell asked her if she had ever been compared to celebrities.
Blackwell said she was often mistaken for Machine Gun Kelly’s ex-fiancée.
“It’s just because I have black hair and blue eyes,” she said in the episode. “But I don’t see it, so don’t get upset. This is the only reason, there is nothing else.
After the two met in person, Presnell said, “She definitely lied to me about her appearance. Chelsea told me she looked like Megan Fox.
“At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter. I’m very attracted to her, I can work with that,” he quickly added.
Blackwell later retracted her statement and told “Entertainment Tonight” that she had contacted Fox to apologize.
“I contacted her (Fox) and said, ‘I’m so sorry I did this to you,'” Blackwell said. “I’m just waiting for Megan to respond.”
Blackwell later told Access Hollywood that she was “being dragged through the trenches” regarding the comment.
“What they didn’t show was that right before that he was like, ‘Yeah, I look like (NFL star) Christian McCaffrey.’ And I have no idea who that is,” she said of Presnell. “So they just showed me and said, ‘Yeah, I get that on the plane a lot.’ I get Katy Perry, Adele and Megan Fox. I’m just like, “I don’t see it, but it’s something I understand.” I didn’t expect him to react like that.
