“Sinners” was the 20 -year -old singer’s break -up project who became the actor of Miles Caton.
The new film, directed by Ryan Coogler, dominated the box office last week. “Sinners” is the only horror film to receive a note “A” on Cinemascore in the history of the notable site of the site.

Cato’s grandfather Archbishop Eric Figueroa Sr. is a pastor who works in the Pentecostal church, and his mother and aunt are both singers of the Gospel.
Cato told Variety in April that he has sang since the age of 3.

Cato has built his career in music from a young age.
In 2017, an 11 -year -old Cato video singing “Feeling Good” from Nina Simone became viral. Jay-Z later included a video clip at the start of his clip for “4:44”, the single holder of his 13th album.
A year later, at 12, Cato appeared in the third season of “Little Big Shots” from NBC, a children’s talent program.
In 2019, the pre-adolescent sang during a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King on “The View” with the singer winner of a Grammy Yolanda Adams.

While he was still in high school, Cato joined him as a background singer during his tour “Back of My Mind” in 2022. He also joined the singer while she Supported Coldplay on their world tour “Music of the Spheres”.

The director of “Sinners”, Coogling, told Variety that they had chosen Caton after seeing hearing recordings around the world because of his “voice in a life”.
“He was just in the dark – as if he hadn’t lit his lights. Something about it was, so intriguing,” said the filmmaker.
After obtaining the role, Cato had to learn to play the guitar, because his character Sammie is both a singer and a guitarist.
Cato said Vanity He spent two months learning the fundamental principles of the instrument before the start of filming. He received lessons from Randy Bowland, a guitarist based in Philadelphia who worked with legendary artists like Sting and Luther Vandross.

Cato is building his career in cinema and music simultaneously.
He released a single “This Ain’t It” in 2023. He also coated an original song for “Sinners”, entitled “Last Time (I see the Sun)” with Alice Smith and the film composer Ludwig Görasson.
“Before, my main thing was music and just being an artist. But now, having this to my credit, I feel like I was not having to limit myself to only one thing. I feel like I can do what I want. So, I’m trying to play more actor roles.”
In the interview with Variety, Caton suggested that he would love to be interpreted in a Marvel film. Coogler also made “Black Panther”, an off -competition film in the Marvel cinematic universe.
