It’s official. Toyota finally launches a new EV in the United States. The C-HR will return to what should be an affordable electric SUV. Here is our first overview of the Toyota C-HR 2026, an EV surprisingly elegant with nearly 300 miles of reach.
Meet the Toyota C-HR 2026 electric SUV for the United States
Who could forget the original Toyota C-HR? The compact Funky air SUV was at less than $ 25,000, but was interrupted in 2022 to make way for the more efficient Corolla Cross hybrid.
The C-HR will return to the United States as an entirely electric SUV with nearly 300 miles of reach. After revealing the electric SUV in Europe earlier this year, Toyota confirmed on Wednesday that the C-HR will actually arrive in the United States.
Apart from a ” +” added at the end of the name (C-HR +), the American and European versions seem almost identical. The electric version is a drastic upgrade on the retired gas model.
Toyota gave him an elegant new look with a design updated closer to his new Corolla and his crown. The smaller SUV includes “Hammerhead Front End” by Toyota with thin LED headlights and distinct lines.

The C-HR EV measures 177.9 ″ long, 73.6 ″ wide and 63.8 ″ high, or approximately the size of the Kia Niro EV (174 ″ long, 72 ″ wide and 62 ″ high). It is also a little smaller than the BZ4X SUV, Toyota’s first EV, 185 “long, 73” wide and 65 “high.
Powered by a 74.7 kWh battery, Toyota expects the C-HR 2026 will reach up to 290 miles of practice. It will also be equipped with a NACS port to access Tesla’s SuperCharger network. Using the DC fast load, the electric SUV can recharge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

The C-HR 2026 will be delivered with a standard all-wheel drive with up to 338 hp. Toyota said the additional power is good for a 0 to 60 mph sprint in about 5 seconds.
New elegant design inside and outside
The new Toyota EV will be available in SE and XSE garnish with “Great Interior Features”. This is in particular a 14 -inch touch screen infotainment system with a Toyota audio multimedia system (with Apple Carplay and Android Auto wireless support), a digital driver display, wireless telephone chargers and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system.

The other standard characteristics include an electric tailgate, low profile roof rails and rain detection wipers. You can also choose from 18 ″ or 20 ″ wheels and several different paint colors.
The XSE model wins finished 20 -inch metal wheels, Softex and synthetic suede seats, a digital rear view mirror with Homelink, a panoramic monitor, and more.

Toyota will offer the fully electric C-HR 2026 (EV), hybrid, rechargeable hybrid (PHEV) and the fuel powder motor. The new electric SUV is expected to arrive at the United States dealers in 2026.
The new C-HR debut comes just a day after Toyota revealed its new BZ electric SUV for the United States. Toyota abandons the name “BZ4X” and gives it significant improvements, including more range (now up to 314 miles), an integrated NAC port, and more.
Although Toyota has not yet revealed the prices, since the C-HR is smaller than the BZ4X, it should start at around $ 35,000.
