Maybe it’s time to buy “Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League”

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve written about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, mostly because I uninstalled the game to make room on my hard drive after not being able to log in for the launch of Season 1 Episode 2, and I also realized that I no longer had the time to dedicate myself to any sort of work there. But I’m back with a bit of… positivity?

I think at this point I might be able to recommend you buy Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. No, it’s not… better, per se. Same campaign, same lack of diversity of encounters and character kits. But it’s cheap now, just $20 during a 70% off Steam sale. This game was never worth $70, but $20? I… can support that.

I’ve said it before, but there is a few There’s a lot of fun to be had in Suicide Squad. I really enjoy its combat, and there’s some decent stuff to do to farm gear and create builds that I’ve enjoyed playing around with for a while. Loot hunting has also been improved with better and rarer weapons to hunt. They’ve also removed a ton of annoying enemy modifiers.

Keep in mind that even though almost no one has played this game, it did The game has gotten mostly positive user reviews. It remains mostly positive on Steam and is pretty decent on Xbox and PlayStation. There were definitely people who enjoyed many aspects of it.

As for the game’s future, I mean, there’s one, at least for this year, it seems. Despite a surprisingly low player count, it’s going to cap off a year of live content, which is four seasons that will add Joker (already here), Mrs. Freeze, Zoe Lawton, and DeathStroke, the last of which I’m definitely interested in. And, spoilers, the long-term plan is to resurrect the Justice League members they killed, so it’s not as brutal and universe-ending as it seems.

As for the player count, it was flatlining at about 150 players a night for about a month, but these sales have more than tripled that to 550. Again, that’s pretty bad for a game that cost this much and took this long to develop, but whatever, we talked about it. The point is, I think there’s probably $20 worth of fun to be had if you’re not buried in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Of course, you can continue to wait for Suicide Squad’s seemingly inevitable move to PS Plus or Game Pass as a free game. Probably PS Plus, given its marketing agreement with Sony. For the moment, the game is only for sale on Steam, not on consoles, in any case.

So yeah, it’s not great, but there are elements that shine, from combat to loot to some really good motion capture. You take what you can get.
