Max has become the last streaming service to repress password sharing. Warner Bros. Discovery announced Tuesday that Max would charge an additional $ 7.99 per month to add someone to your account outside your household.
The new “additional additional module” allows subscribers of all levels to invite a friend or family member to create a separate account with their own connection information. These members can disseminate from a device both and “take advantage of all the other advantages included in the basic plans of the owner of the main account”, according to Warner Bros. Discovery. Subscribers can only add one additional member per account.
Max also deploys a profile transfer function, which is supposed to facilitate additional members to transport the watch history, recommendations and parameters on a new account. Currently, the additional additional module of Max members is only available for people who are directly subscribed to the service – not subscribers from the Empvation.
Max alluded to the addition of paid sharing in the service since last year, with the Warner Bros Discovery streaming director JB Perette, said in December that users could add additional members in the first quarter of 2025.
