Mavericks’ Luka Doncic sinks the Timberwolves with a late 3-pointer as Dallas takes a 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference finals.
Luka Doncic made a 3-pointer with just three seconds left to give the Dallas Mavericks a 2-0 series lead with a 109-108 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals , Friday in Minneapolis.
Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards gave Dallas a chance with 12.6 seconds remaining with a costly turnover on an errant pass to Naz Reid who went out of bounds to set up Doncic’s dramatic go-ahead 3-pointer.
The Timberwolves led the Mavs by as many as 18 in the third, but Dallas regained the lead in the fourth quarter on an Irving 3-pointer two minutes into the game. Irving added another 3-pointer two minutes later, but Reid was just too hot on the bench for Minnesota and quickly responded with his seventh from deep.
In total, there were 11 leader changes in the fourth quarter.
The Mavericks were coming off an upset in Game 1 thanks to a combined 63-point effort from Doncic and Irving in the 108-105 victory.
Game 3 of the Western Conference finals will take place on Sunday in Dallas.
