Kendrick Bourne and Matthew Judon will be two of eight NFL players participating in an American Cornhole League qualifying tournament in New Orleans on Saturday.

Each NFL player will be paired with a professional Cornhole player. Players such as Derek Carr, Dion Dawkins and Brandin Cooks also participate.

“I’m very happy with the roster we have for New Orleans – kudos to my co-commissioner Dion Dawkins for helping put it together,” said Stacey Moore, commissioner and founder of the American Cornhole League. “This is just the start, as we will announce the players for the rest of the qualifiers in the coming weeks – so stay tuned for more big names to come!”

Bourne said Judon introduced him to the sport.

“We play it all the time in the locker room,” Bourne said. “He just said to me ‘do you want to come’? He knows I have good energy and stuff like that, I try to get the crowd excited and have fun.

Bourne said cornerback Jonathan Jones is the Patriots’ best cornhole player.

“He’s impressive,” Bourne said. “I don’t know who else, but he’s someone I notice because he’ll talk loud out there and compete with the guys. He is one of the best.

The ACL began playing Superhole qualifying tournaments in 2019, when Daniel Jones and Sam Darnold competed against each other. The league was launched in 2016.

Players compete to share a $100,000 prize pool. They also offer limited edition Cornhole bags, and thirty percent of the profits generated from the bags are donated to a charity of the player’s choice.

The New Orleans Regional Superhole V is one of four held across the country. Those who advance will participate in the championship, which will take place in a city to be announced later.

Coverage of Saturday’s qualifying begins at 10 p.m. on ESPN 2.
