Matt Murdock, lawyer by day and vigilante by night played by Charlie Cox, and Kingpin, played by Vince D’Onofrio, as veteran characters from Marvel’s original Netflix action series, return for the trailer for Daredevil: Born Again.
A tense coffee shop meeting provides the backdrop for an ultimately violent reunion of Cox as Murdock, a blind lawyer with superpowers to fight for justice, and supervillain Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (D’Onofrio ), who is now mayor.
“I admit it’s not entirely unpleasant to see you again,” Fisk tells Murdock at one point in the trailer. “I can’t shake the feeling that you’re gaming the system,” Murdock told Fisk, who, judging by the scenes of fight and destruction interspersed in the teaser, hasn’t lost his violent streak.
As their past identities begin to emerge in the trailer, the two appear poised to head toward an inevitable collision in the upcoming Marvel TV series.
In September 2023, Daredevil: Born Again hit the reset button and revised its planned 18-episode series after early footage failed to meet Marvel Studios’ expectations.
The Punisher Writer Dario Scardapane was named the new showrunner, and it was quickly decided that the isolated Marvel Universe that once resided on Netflix would become the MCU’s canon.
The series also stars Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki M. James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, with Ayelet Zurer and Jon Bernthal.
Executive producer credits are shared by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, Chris Gary, Scardapane, Matt Corman, Chris Ord, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.
Daredevil: Born Again will be released on March 4 on Disney+.
